For decades, if not centuries, exercise has been recommended for people with diabetes. Recent years have seen major advances in our understanding of type 2 diabetes and the role of exercise for preventing and managing this disease. This presentation will examine some of these exiting results as well as future challenges.
Dr. Normand Boulé is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation, Member of the Alberta diabetes Institute, and Director of the Physical Activity and Diabetes Laboratory (PADL). With colleagues from across Canada, he is working on the next Edition of the Canadian Diabetes Association guidelines on Physical Activity and Diabetes.
